When it comes to buying perfumes these days, there are so many brands and names to buy that it can become somewhat of a minefield! With celebrity perfumes taking the centre stage such as the hit selling Coleen McLaughlin perfume and the Beckham range, the old favorites such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel seem to be taking somewhat of a back seat. One thing still remains to be true from this however and that is that many people are just as fascinated by the packaging of the perfume as they are by the fragrance itself.
The thing that you need to ask yourself is why the fascination with the packaging? You hear so many people talking about the perfume bottle design of this perfume and that perfume but is this what is really important? After all, you are not wearing the bottle!
Many women think of perfume as somewhat of a collector’s item. I personally have a long line of perfumes on my dressing table, all in pretty bottles and some in not so pretty ones. The perfumes that I tend to be drawn to in a store are the ones with intricately designed bottles and boxes; the ones that will really stand out from the rest in my collection. I have even been known to buy a bottle of perfume that I couldn’t stand the smell of just because of the attractive packaging!
The thing is that everything these days is judged by the way it looks from new televisions to clothes and shoes and now even to things as insignificant as perfume. When it comes to designing a bottle of perfume, the packaging and the bottle is now to be considered as important as the fragrance itself and to realize this, all you need to do is look at the many perfume reviews on the internet to see that the outside of the box is just as important and a contributing factor to whether or not the perfume is bought.
