The perfume you purchase in stores only cost about ten percent of the price they are being sold forThe perfume you purchase in stores only cost about ten percent of the price they are being sold for. The rest is for advertising, packaging, tax and sales profit. Chances are if you are like others, you would rather put your money into essential oils that are exotic and affordable. You could put your money into making your own perfume, instead of buying it. Those essential oils could set you back a couple of dollars, but you would only need a drop or two. Unlike the store bought perfumes, when you make your own perfume, you will know that you are wearing the real thing and not just something pretending to be perfume. Amongst the many advantages of making your own perfume, you will be maintaining the natural essence. You will not have to worry about preservatives or added chemicals going on your skin and causing a bad reaction. We’re not saying you’re not going to have a reaction to essential oils because each person is different, you should test a sample of the essential oils.
The strength of your perfume will depend on the ratio of the essential oils to alcohol and water. It should be 15-30 percent essential oil, 70-85 percent should be alcohol and the last remainder of 5 percent should be water. When you use water, you should make sure you only use spring water or a bottle of distilled water. Vodka that is 100 proof should be used as the alcohol. You could also use Brandy. If you would like to add colour to your perfume, then you should use vegetable food dye that is high quality. Don’t forget about bottles to put your creations in, the bottles should be sterilized.
